Welcome to Healing Intentions!

 

I became interested in massage therapy while I was a soil scientist for the USDA.  Soil surveying was a very physically demanding job for me and in effect I had a lot of back, shoulder, and especially hip pain from it.  During the winter of 1997 and 1998, I received a series of structural integration massages called Rolfing.  The treatments helped immensely and I was hooked on massage. 

I have been a massage therapist since June of 1999 when I graduated from the Institute of Natural Therapies in Hancock, Michigan.  In September of 1999 I became Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.  Over the last several years I have worked mainly with Swedish and deep tissue techniques. 

Starting in 2005 I began to branch out and learn new treatments.  In November of 2005 I became a certified facelift massage specialist at the Bellanina Institute in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  In 2006 I started offering spa body treatments.

Then in 2007 and 2008 I studied craniosacral therapy with the Upledger Institute out of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.  I have a great passion for craniosacral therapy because it allows the body to relax and heal from within.  Healing from within is what it’s all about.
